KULTURWERKSTATT  BÄRWINKEL

In the Brandenburg countryside between Berlin and Poland lies the former Bärwinkel outlying estate, close to Schloss Neuhardenberg. The ensemble was designed around 1800 by Friedrich Gilly as a “pleasure ground”; the Molkenhaus at its center is considered the first significant building by the young Karl Friedrich Schinkel. Accessible via an old path off the main road, the historic site is a place of inspiration.

According to the design of architect Frank Augustin, the former stable building of the estate is currently being transformed into a small concert hall. In the loft space, four modern studio rooms for overnight stays are being created, while the charm and substance of the listed building are preserved.

The initiator of the project is Corinna Simon. With the KULTURWERKSTATT BÄRWINKEL, a new venue for musical excellence and artistic education is being established. It will host concerts featuring programs of exceptional artistic distinction, international masterclasses, and focused working phases.

Starting in summer 2027, the Kulturwerkstatt Bärwinkel will offer intensive working periods for professional pianists, advanced students, and musicians at competition and concert level. The aim is to connect a profound analytical approach to the work with inner musical experience and a coherent realization of expressive intention. Drawing on her extensive artistic background, Corinna Simon opens pathways toward refined and authentic expressive means. Interdisciplinary perspectives will also be integrated, expanding and deepening the interpretative vision. A space emerges for individual concepts and for targeted preparation for concerts, competitions, examinations, or recordings. This includes work on stage presence, which can be experienced particularly well in the hall.
