BÄRWINKEL - 225  Part 1:

Piano for Kids

The program for piano music lovers of all ages and experts includes exciting works by famous composers from three centuries, written for children.

"As a child, when I played pieces by composers who had long since passed away, I always wanted to immerse myself in the feeling of those times. How might the composers have lived in their time? How did they play the piano? What might they have been thinking? Perhaps they felt the same way as I do today? However, I thought classical music was mainly for adults. Until I discovered that, in addition to the few well-known masterpieces for children and young people like Schumann's "Album for the Young," Bartók's "Mikrokosmos," or Debussy's "Children's Corner," there are countless others that are simply worth discovering."

Corinna Simon plays and presents compositions by Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, Béla Bartók, Carl Reinecke, Johann Sebastian Bach, Paul Juon, Sergei Prokoffiev, Joaquin Turina and Claude Debussy.

Corinna Simon has received high international recognition for her "Piano for Kids" project. She was invited to perform the program at the Royal Palace in Madrid and in Brasília, where she gave a concert to 400 young people at the invitation of the German Embassy in cooperation with the Brazilian Ministry of Education. The CD album "Piano for Kids" was nominated for the Opus Klassik music award in the "Best Solo Recording" category.
